AROUSSIA NALOUTI - Scriptwriter
At the beginning, THALATHOUN was a big project as a television series about modern Tunisia’s big figures. Then, it was stopped because it exceeded the Tunisian Television capacities.
Fadhel Jaziri decided to make a movie out of it. He asked me to re-write the scenario with him for the cinema.
The idea was to give a human dimension to the big personalities out of whom History has created myths and legends.
We have noticed that people recognize CHEBBI, HADDAD or DOUAGI as symbols but they don’t know anything about them as human beings: how did they live, love or hate certain things of life.
Adapting the previous project into a complete scenario was difficult because we have received few information concerning these great personalities.
We have an idea about what they have written, about their fights but nothing about their ways of life. This required a lot of research but also a lot of imagination.
HADDAD : a man of high spirit and sensibility and also a good writer.
CHEBBI: a romantic poet. He is a dreamer who wished to renovate everything but the conservative forces have defeated him.
DOUAGI : a real free man; he does what he has to do without taking into account anything else.
