MAKING OF d The One Man Village [LB]

Directed by Simon El Habre

Shot in in Mount Lebanon (Lebanon) in December '07 and January '08
Making of directed by Sabine Choucair

Semaan El Habre – Main Protagonist

The film that we are shooting is actually my life story, how I live, how I deal with the cows. There is no scenario. It's what I truly do every minute, every hour of the day.
Initially, when we were young, we used to live here before the war during which we got displaced. We had cows. And I always dreamt to return to the village, have my own cows and live the farmer life. I wanted to get away from the people and free my mind. I am very happy that I am being filmed and talked about as a person who lives alone in this village. I hope this will trigger the people who will watch this film to return to nature.

The film means a lot to me. It takes me back to the past, to our original life, to beautiful things. But at the same time the human being suffers. I am one who likes to suffer, for suffering is good sometimes in order to taste life fully.
