MAKING OF d The One Man Village [LB]

Directed by Simon El Habre

Shot in in Mount Lebanon (Lebanon) in December '07 and January '08
Making of directed by Sabine Choucair

Jad Abi Khalil – Producer

My name is Jad Abi Khalil, co-producer of the film The One Man Village. This documentary is produced by Beirut DC which I am representing, Mec Film in Germany and Simon El Habre, the director.
It's been a year and a half that we've been working on this film. The advantage that we had is that the film is being shot throughout the four seasons, so we were able to insure the funds in order to shoot each season at a time.
We had three main sources for the funding: first from the producers Beirut DC, second from the Dubai Film Connection at the Dubai Film Festival during which we have won a 15,000 $ Prize and the final one is a friend of ours who liked to participate to the production of the film. We can say that this is a film that we are producing ourselves. Until now we don't have any source of funding coming from abroad.
We hope that by the time the film is done and ready to be blown on 35mm since it being shot on HD format, the costs will be funded by foreign sources since the 35mm blow up is very costly.
The film is scheduled to be completed in the coming six months. I hope we can watch it together by then.
