Sabine Sidawi - Executive Producer
I read the script and I liked it very much. I have known Hani for a very long time, more or less 10 years. So I thought I have to shoot with him his first feature film. We have presented a proposal to the Lebanese Ministry of Culture, but now it's Orjwan Productions that is the executive producer on the film (hence it is not a co-production). Concerning the Lebanese crew, it has been chosen by Orjwan Productions, while the French one has been selected by the French production team. The actual work has been hard, especially in the beginning. It's tough for the two teams to get used to each other, as it is the case with the early stages of any production. But it was even more so with this film since it is very demanding in its set, accessories and small details. Apart from the pre-production work, what was equally difficult in the film was the current state of the country. The blasts that rock Lebanon demoralize the crew members. It's not easy to ask them to be ready for work and give their best one day after an explosion occurs. People are scared and take their precautions. There is a negative aura around us, even though we try our best to make things positive all the time.
