MARKETSiGUIDELINES

1. Actions and objectives

Med-Screen will provide Arab films and their right-holders, the appropriate means to be present on the main film markets (Cannes, Berlin, etc.). It will cover the film screening fees, the subscription fees of right-holders and the press attaché at the market, the transportation of copies and the printing of promotional material (DVD copies, Beta, press files). A film’s participation in the film market will conform to the conditions and rules of that particular market.

The objective is to increase the films’ chances of being acquired, and released in film theatres in the partner countries.

2. Beneficiaries and eligibility criteria

The beneficiaries are right-holders of feature length films and documentaries from the 8 Arab countries of the MEDA region.

Those eligible are the production and sales companies, who are legally established in one of the 8 Arab countries of the MEDA region or in one of the 25 countries of the European Union.

3. Terms and conditions

A partnership agreement will be signed between right-holders and Med-Screen. The agreement will determine the terms and total amount of support as well as the commitments of each party.

Right-holders will fully adhere to make visible this support programme within the framework of Euromed Audiovisual.

Once right-holders participated in a market, they must provide Med-Screen with a full report of contacts made with potential buyers, of eventual agreements concluded with those buyers, and a list of the professionals who attended the market screenings.

The right-holder will provide Med-Screen with the invoices and proof of payment which will serve to establish the final amount of support.

If all the conditions are observed, Med-Screen will disburse the financial support in accordance to the commitments detailed in the partnership agreement.

Support will not be disbursed until after the participation of the film in the market
