MAKING OFGUIDELINES

1. Actions and objectives

Med-Screen intends to produce a ‘making of’ for Arab films from the MEDA region. A short version of these ‘making of’ will be available on the Internet in order to improve the visibility of these films and to promote them. A longer version will be integrated as a bonus on the DVD of the film.

Eligible are feature length films which will be shot in the 12 months following the application.

The aim of this action is to diffuse information about these films starting from the shooting phase. Moreover, it will introduce to the audience the creation process of these films as well as their artistic and technical crews.

2. Beneficiaries and eligibility criteria

The beneficiaries are the production companies of feature length films from the 8 Arab countries of the MEDA region.

Those eligible are the legal production houses established in one of the 8 Arab countries of the MEDA region or in one of the 25 countries of the European Union.

The location of the shooting should definitely be in one of the partner countries.

3. Terms and conditions

A partnership agreement will be signed between the production company and Med-Screen. It will specify the terms of the shooting and the commitments of each party.

4. Eligible costs

A team of two (a journalist and a technician) will be on location to interview some of the artistic and technical crew.

The duration of the shooting will be 2 days approximately.

Two versions of the ‘making of’ will be produced:

• 1 short version of 9 minutes, to be broadcasted on partner websites
• 1 long version (rushes of interviews of 35 minutes approximately), to be proposed to DVD producers as a bonus feature for the DVD release of the film.

5. Application file

A call for entries will be launched at the beginning of every year of the programme: 2006, 2007, and 2008.

The candidacy file will include the following documents:

• An application form dully filled
• A recent extract from the national registry of commerce concerning the applying company presenting the file.
• A copy of the script in French or English

The deadline for the application will be specified in the call for entries. The file can be sent to either:
