He’s an old gentleman who was certainly rich. He’s unmarried. He has a son who doesn’t live with him. One day he fell ill and, since the son knows that he cannot look after his father at home for ever, he has the idea of getting married, despite the fact that he’s sexually impotent. He’s never thought of getting married before, but he’d like to find a woman to look after his sick father. And this father knows all about it, so he realises that his daughter-in-law may be unfaithful to his son, but he cannot say anything.
Yes, to be honest it’s a very difficult part indeed, certainly it took me a long time to prepare the part, I talked to many sick people, many with the same disease, I adapted some of their behaviour and I hope that people will appreciate how it came off, I’m not sure.
