MAKING OF dLes jardins de Samira [MA]

Shot in Bensliman (Morocco), 11/11/2006
Making of directed by Youssef Britel

Sana’ Mouziane - ACTRESS

I play Samira, which is the lead role. Samira is a young Moroccan woman from a poor background and a pretty conservative-minded family. She has been brought up in traditional Moroccan fashion and her only dream is to get married and have a family to look after.

I worked on her way of walking, talking, laughing, the whole way she behaves. If I compare the part of Samira with the one I just played in Achraf Haramy, it’s the exact opposite, but then that’s what I enjoy, what I look for in the various films I’m in.

Today girls dream of getting married to a wealthy man who will guarantee them a home and a future, without thinking of their own happiness. Without saying any more about the plot, that’s what the film is about, above all it’s a film which looks at the young women of today.
