DVDGUIDELINES

1. Actions and objectives

Med-Screen will support DVD producers who distribute Arab films of the MEDA region within the territories of the partnership.

This support is intended to improve the promotion and conditions of distribution of the films on DVD, and to reach a wider public by increasing the number of languages on the DVD.

2. Beneficiaries and eligibility criteria

The beneficiaries are the DVD producers of feature length films and documentaries from the 8 Arab countries of the MEDA region.

Those eligible are:

• DVD production companies located in one of the 8 Arab countries of the MEDA region, or in the 25 countries of the European Union, who are legally incorporated with the ability of marketing the films on DVD.
• Companies responsible for the entire DVD production, including acquiring the rights, printing and marketing.

3. Terms and conditions

A partnership agreement will be signed between the DVD producer and Med-Screen . It will detail the exact terms and the maximum amount of support, as well as the commitments of each party.

The DVD producer will fully adhere to make visible this support programme within the framework of Euromed Audiovisual.

After the release, the producer will send Med-Screen a sample of each edited promotional material (press kit, posters, flyers, etc.) and will inform Med-Screen of the number of DVDs sold.

The producer will provide Med-Screen with the invoices and proof of payment which will serve to establish the final amount of support.

If all the conditions are observed, Med-Screen will disburse the financial support in accordance to the commitments detailed in the partnership agreement.

Support will not be disbursed until after the release of the DVD.

4. Eligible costs

Eligible costs for this action are:

1. Promotion:

• Creation of promotional material: advertisement pages, posters, flyers, etc.
• Purchasing of promotional spaces: press inserts, (programmes, newspapers, magazines), posters, etc.

2. Addition of one or two languages among the languages of the partner countries.

5. Application file

The application file should comprise the following documents:

• An application form dully filled
• A provisional budget
• A recent extract from the national registry of commerce concerning the applying company
• A copy of the contract signed with the DVD producer
• A synopsis of the film and technical specifications
• A DVD or VHS copy of the film, preferably subtitled in French or English.

The deadline for the application will be specified in the call for entries. The file can be sent to either:
