Karim Ayari - Chief Operator
This is my first film. I made some short films, Video-clips and advertisements.
I accepted to work on this movie because the script is very interesting; It has a lot of humor and real characters.
IBRAHIM talked to me about what he desires, about the genre of movie he wants to make according to the Italian Cinema style.
He wanted to make a Tunisian film that does not look like the other films with little suspense and a lot of contrasts.
He showed me many visual references. We saw the décor sets together, we decided for the colors and contrasts.
We made a lot of changes in every shot to avoid them to be in camera and look static.
We have always tried to have shots in movement, master shots. Camera movements, actors who cross each other. Then, with cuts, we show the expressions of each actor.
IBRAHIM has a distinctive touch. He knows exactly what he wants, even if, sometimes, he lacks in means for that.
As a tolerant person, he listens to others and takes time for a ‘’brain storming’’, then we decide what to do.
During the general preparations and the shooting, I approached the film shot by shot and sequence by sequence trying to do things well. Now I am curious to see the final result. There is an osmosis that is going to take place during the shooting and mixing. That will decide what kind of movie we will have.
