Ibrahim Letayef - Director
It’s the story of three friends: a director, a producer and a chief cameraman who could not find funds for their movie. They received the same letter I received saying that their project does not reflect the reality of the country.
So, they decided to get to the bottom and rob a bank to finish their project.
It is nearly the same situation I am living today. I am working on a film without any assurances from anybody.
So I am drawing on my own savings. I robbed my bank legally: I am reimbursing, on a monthly basis, a loan for some equipment that I should have purchased but I did not.
I did what we call A Supplier Loan for the purchase of some equipment. Then, I called a team to help me.
It has also been the first time, after some interviews I had made, that I received sms messages from people who said to be ready to finance my project. Something new to the Tunisians.
All the difficulties I have encountered have made me more creative and more generous with the team and the technicians.
During the processes of this film making, a big number of magic things happened.
Today, we are in the fifth week of shooting and I am reassured to finalize my project.
Later, you will ask me if there will be a Post-Production to this film. Here, I am sure of nothing… but I am happy because I can visualize my hives, synchronize them and see the movie come to the end and there will probably be a continuation.
