Reinhart Peschke - CINEMATOGRAPHER

The main reasons why I chose to work on this project were the story, the script, the director Amin. We had pretty much the same vision about the film. There are so many options now to do movies. We decided that the story as it is does not ask for greedy luck. We wanted to make it look as beautiful and pretty as possible. We experimented with the Genesis, with the Viper and also the D-20 Arriflex which was available. I think these cameras can give you an image that has a little less grain and the film is actually more pristine. Another advantage was in a country like Jordan where you don't have a film lab, you don't have to send out the film. So I contacted last year Arriflex, went through a crash course on their new system called the D-20 and we decided I'll go four outs and do the 4-4-4 which is basically right now the best possible digital option to do a movie. That way I also could use the lenses I favor to use which are the master primes and the Cooke-size lenses. I think after all after everything that is said and done, we might have a movie that maybe look better than it would look shot on the best film that's available.
