Victor Kredi – Director of Photography
I met Ahmad Rachwan by pure coincidence shortly before the start of the shooting. We did prepare the film very well but there were some parts in which improvisation was needed because of the limited time that we have spent together.
We are using an HVX200 Panasonic which is one of the best compact HD cameras.
For the light, we are dealing with the conventional light that is used in cinema – HMI, Kino, Tungsten. As the HD alone can not give you a proper cinematic image, we are using some lighting techniques to achieve the desired result. Of course, a color correction is needed during the postproduction.
We are somehow having a documentary approach and the camera, which is in a way a video camera, is kind of helping us on this issue.
In low-budget films, you always deal with obstacles and challenges, which is something I like. The bottom line is to finish the film. You want to accomplish something that will be remembered.
