MAKING OF d Baby Doll Night [EG]

Directed by Adel Adeeb

Shot in Cairo, Egypt on 27-28/09/2007
Making of directed by Amro Alhadidy

Sulaf Fawakherji - Actress

As a whole, the film holds several moral values. The political streak is imposing itself on the film. Yet that does not prevent social, human and even comical situations to have their share in the work.
The film is rich in events, characters, ideas and sayings. I won’t talk about my character in the film and its core yet I can say that it has a high level of humanity. I like such types of characters which are beautiful, delicate and embrace the human conditions.
This is my second work with “Good News Films”. I feel I share their value and ambition to produce a good and true cinema. There has been a friendship that has been developing between Mr. Adel Adeeb and myself. This is the first time that I work with him as a director. We are only in our first days of shooting. He’s a person with a pure heart, and bases his work around the feelings especially those who are in front of him, before dealing with the technical aspects. I like his approach and respect it since as a human and as an artist, I feel at ease working with this methodology.
I expect this film to generate a debate. People will not be indifferent towards it. I feel debates are important in artistic works so that we believe that we are doing something which is making us move forward.
