MAKING OF d Baby Doll Night [EG]

Shot in Cairo, Egypt on 27-28/09/2007
Making of directed by Amro Alhadidy

This is my first time doing an Arabic big film. I’ve shot commercials here before. I find the people great and the crew is absolutely fantastic. Everybody is being extremely helpful. I think I work with Mr. Adel very well, we’ve went through the script together, discussed several ways in which the film should look in the various sets, whether in dark, light or bright. We’re treating each scene individually. The night scenes will be quite different than the day scenes obviously.
This is the new ARRI. It’s the first time that it’s being used. We’re shooting with a 2.35, super 35 format. I believe it’s the first time it’s being used in Egypt in a movie.
It’s been quite challenging to work in an Arabic film since most of the time I have to apprehend what is happening because I don’t understand the language. But in cinema you have a feel for the actors and the lighting techniques so that works the same for me.
