MAKING OF dAyrouwen [DZ]

Directed by Brahim Tsaki

Shot in Djanet (Algeria), 04/04/2007
Making of directed by Lemnaouer Ahmine

Djanet Lachemet - Actress

Yes, my name is Djanet Lachemet. Not Djanet the city, but my name is like that of the city. And that's the first touch of magic in this story which attracted me to try playing this role. But the fact that this film was done by a friend of mine, Tsaki Brahim, would be another reason for my playing in the film. We used to be in the same class at the drama school.

Yet I have only made some three to four films in my career, not more. It's exceptional to work here because the shooting place is absolutely magnificent, Djanet is an enchanting city. And then there's the story and the script. I play the role of an old lost woman with a younger girl. A woman and a girl lost in nature, right in the middle of the desert. The script touches on the atomic tests in the Sahara.

In the wind's sand, there is some reagent, and that's the sad aspect of the story. But there's a nice love story nonetheless.
