Yasmine El Messri - Actress
How I landed here is a long story. In the beginning, when I had my casting for the film, I was not chosen because I do not speak Twareg. They were searching for a Twareg girl for this role. And as I do not speak this dialect, they said: "Sorry, this role is not for you." But the actress who has been selected for the role couldn't make it to the shooting, so they called me at the very last minute, asking me if I can come to Djanet to shoot the film "Le Crépuscule des Hommes Bleus."
When I arrived, I had to learn the language on the spot, which was very tough for me, for my language and the script are my true powers as an actress. I was very scared because I had the feeling that I wasn't mastering the dialect. That has prompted me to focus on the script rather than concentrate on my own acting, during the early stages.
Ever since my childhood, I was attracted to the woman who plays the role of the land. For me, Nina incarnates this woman. Mina loves without having to sacrifice. I don't think she wants to sacrifice herself. You will see the film and judge by yourselves. Mina has loved a man until the very last minute, with whom she couldn't live. |
